Welcome to mundane life. And tips on how to blog about it!

Hey Hi Hello!

Well this is the start of something radically interesting. Or not. But for my first ever blog post I thought I'd try doing something witty, or intelligent. Naturally I do the first thing anyone does when trying to tackle a task in which they have no knowledge of; I google it.

So after Google-ing for a good 5 minutes I realise that there is probably no amount of information which is essentially going to assist me in talking about anything to probably no one. But I thought "Hey, what the hell! It's not like there isn't enough random bullshit on the internet, might as well add in my 2 cents!". This is how my google adventure assisted me in blogging.

There are 3 of the more choice blogs on blogging to start blogging and continue blogging (yo dawg)

How to Create a Good Blog Title – Tips to Name your Blog

http://kisswebmaster.com/how-to-make-a-good-blog-title-tips-to-name-your-blog/

So this one was good for starting up my actual blog as a whole. Unfortunately I don't do well with short and descriptive. Jijo Sunny makes an awesome point of making the name of the blog under 60 characters. Much like most people on the internet, I don't know how to just shut up. Naturally, I went a TAD over and did 73 characters.. I am sure after going through about 30 more attempts I could possibly get it down, I am way too impatient for that. Plus I want to express everything I could ever write about in the title, much like how personal ads try to get the most ridiculous summary of desperate people within a few characters. The MX has a great section called "Here's looking at you" which half the time ends with "Coffee?" Seemed appropriate. Here are some for you to giggle at.

Also this is how you can submit one

Tips For Writing Your First Blog Entry

 http://www.simoncotter.com/tips-for-writing-your-first-blog-entry.html

This one says that copying stuff that already exists is totally fine and a great starting point, which to me by the way, is totally foreign. I just spent 1.5years writing my Honours thesis in Marine ecology (which we shall go over in another blog post) and I not only could get fined for copying someone else's work; I could get expelled from university and a police record! Plagiarism; it's a serious crime folks. But seriously, I'd be super pissed if someone ripped off a bunch of my research for their own gain. So essentially making a blog post about other peoples blog post is kind of refreshing. This guy/gal "admin" says that simple title to help catch the readers eyes is a good start... so I went for a boring sounding one which most people will this is being witty or sarcastic. Nope. My life currently is mundane and I am writing a blog post on blog posts. Yep. That's happening. But, admin also says that find questions and answer them. Looking for an answer is what started me down this path, so step 2. Sort of done.

50 Can’t-Fail Techniques for
Finding Great Blog Topics

This one is more about generalised blogging, and frankly has kind of given me some interesting ideas. I think that writing this entry has helped me with number 48. I think for a few of these to work I will need some followers to help. Honestly, if you want any help on figuring out what in the bat raising hell you need to write about, Carol Tice is your lady!

And that's what is the haps about writing a blog. Feel free to finding your own links and posting them in the comments to help out.
