So I am back from the American lands permanently now and came up to my Implanon expiry date. The implanon has a 3 year period which it can work for but you can always get it removed early. My second one I had 2 days after the expiry date so if you go a bit past the date, it won't be a working contraceptive any more but it also won't randomly explode out of your arm either.

This time I thought I would purge the implanon out of my system and see how my body would bode on the pill. It had been about 5-6 years since I had been on a pill and now there are even more options. Figured maybe some would work for me again.
Boy was I wrong. First off, the price of the pill is widely different depending on which one you get. I was prescribed Yaz which cost me $90. None of this was covered by Medicare whereas the Implanon costs around $150 but with Medicare it only costs $38.
The first few weeks of being on it was great, although I have a feeling my previous implanon had something to do with that. After letting my guard down and thinking that maybe, JUST maybe the pill would work for me ...I was wrong. Bring on the flood gates of hell and the wrath of a thousand demons exploding out of my uterus.
So after 2 months of this, went back to the GP and got a new perscription. Headed to my Gyno to get it put in.
Now, something I recommend to all of you - When the Doctor says "Don't use this arm for 20mins, keep pressure on it, it'll reduce bruising" LISTEN TO THEM! I am pretty good with these things normally but I had to do some shopping chores within a set time-frame before getting back home so I tried to take it easy... but because of the local and the fact I had done this twice before I wasn't as cautious as I usually am. Check out this crazy-sauce bruising as a result!
This was after doing stuff all day and using my arm,
After about 2.5 weeks this is what it looked like:
Now the big red dot you can see is where I got my last one out. The stitch pulled out one day (it wasn't very secure in the first place IMO. I don't think she did it very well and I have since left that doctor) and it didn't really close up properly. But the other faint dots are the only evidence I have left of the implanon ever there. Plus it's your upper arm, no one really looks there anyway.
So this photo shows it now (almost 20 days later). There is still some minor bruising but you can't really see it in this photo. This is what each circle means:
Black - the original implanon insertion site
Blue - Where the first one was removed and second one was inserted
Red - The second removal site
Purple - Most recent insertion site
